I see a lot of significant boards pass through Stewart surfboards. From custom Cervantes painted Stewarts to really unique classics and neo-retros. But hanging on the wall right now is an almost perfect trifecta of San Clemente area greats. A 9’5” Dale Velzy, multi redwood, cedar and balsa, Bill Stewart’s 10’ 21 stringer and a 9’ 6” Phil Edwards model Hobie. Three generations of top notch shapers, all three boards crafted within 10 miles of each other right here in San Clemente. Wood boards are the epitome of shaping craft. The Stewart, for example was milled and glued up by Bill himself and the fin was made by Bill specifically for the board. Phil stopped shaping years ago, and his boards are A-list collectibles.
