Bill Stewart Puts His Slant on a 1937 Ford Slantback
Bill Stewart recently designed and oversaw the complete frame-off restoration of this 1937 Ford Slantback, with his signature attention to craftsmanship in every detail. The exterior of the car is stealth, with black tinted windows and a Brandy Candy color that looks black in the shade and morphs to a deep, dark burgundy in the sun. Pop open the remote-controlled electric doors and see all the surf-inspired details, like the stingray-embossed leather interior, hand-shaped mahogany armrests and koa wood dashboard and floor. Not to leave his sense of humor out of it, Bill added a hundred-dollar bill eating skull in the trunk to compliment the “8MYMONY” license plate.
As fun as it was to create this beauty, Bill has decided to move on to other projects and the ’37 Slantback is going to be offered for sale at the Mecum Auction in Anaheim Nov 15-17.
