Beautiful Balsa Board By Bill

We just wanted to offer up a real stunner that just rolled in. This is a beautiful, 9’ 7” wood board completely milled and hand shaped by Bill Stewart. With 21 stringers in all, this board is a visual delight . Very clean balsa and book ended redwood, this board is reminiscent of the fine classics Dale Velzy shaped throughout his career, but with the Bill flair. This is a fully templated board, with a pulled nose, and a squash tail complimented with a tail block. The fin is also unique and handmade. It is a period correct barn door fin, with a 1/4” glass bead.

It Does Airs Too!

We have been hearing rave reviews on the S-winger since its conception in 2008. We have seen some great photographs as well. This testimonial is really backed up with a great photo! Chad Towersey is an exceptional Newport local and Surfline rep. He can, and has surfed a lot of great boards in his time, so the compliment he has given to the S-Winger is sincere and backed by hardcore experience.
I want to start by saying that this is the best board I have ever ridden. The first 2 sessions I rode it as a (5 fin).

Team Rider Steven Newton in C Magazine

Team rider Steven Newton got a nice write up in C Magazine. It basically says what we already knew, he is a great guy, he’s smart, and he rips.

Sacred Craft 2009

What a great show! If you were there you know what I am talking about. It was sincere and soulful, both traits lacking in most other surf industry trade shows. Just days before the show Bill obtained some wonderful Dick Brewer collectibles (thanks Andy!) that he wanted to display in honor of Mr. Brewer and wanted to show off some of our fine Traditional models.

The S-Winger...In Sweden!

Binge Eliasson is a huge proponent of the S-Winger and has been surfing the icy waves of Sweden on his custom 5-fin. Here is a sequence shot by Mattias Karlen proving that a) there are waves in Sweden, b) the S-Wigner rocks, and c) the water in Sweden is COLD! If you have any unique or cool photos of yourself or a friend on a Stewart board please let us know, we might even publish it on our website!

Congratulations Steven!!!

Congratulations to team rider Steven Newton for a strong finish at the Toes on the Noes Rabbit Kekai Longboard Classic. With his second place finish Steven took home $1,500 in prize money and enough points to put him into first place in the ASP North American ratings. If Steven can hold on to first or second place in the rankings he will earn an invitation to the ASP World Longboard Tour.

It Is Complete!!!

Bill has completed a massive mural at his 2102 S. El Camino Real retail location. The work is one of his largest, most elaborate to date. The multi-view, highly dimensional piece is approximately 50 feet wide by 13 feet tall. The sea life in the foreground portray a calm relaxed natural environment while the wave and mystical mountains touch that fantasy nerve in every surfer. If you are interested in commissioning a mural or a painting any size please contact Bjorn at info@stewartsurfboards.com or (800)262-8882.

It is always interesting to see what comes out of the creative mind of Mr. Stewart! Come on by and check it out, 2102 S. El Camino Real, San Clemente, CA.

Knarley Dog’s New Custom

An infamous carnie, maker of bar-b-q sauces, inventor of Touch of Purple cleaner, seller of fine pots and pans and animal nail clippers, Mr. Dog can put that Sham Wow guy to shame. He surfs the world’s waves on Stewart surf boards and will tell you all about it. We hope to incorporate his mind-bending raves and rhetoric into our website. Here is a shot of him with his new S-Winger. While Bill held up his new board to show him the bottom, Knarley Dog proceeded to give it a full bore punch, stunning all onlookers.
