Shop of the Week – Aqua East: Neptune Beach, Florida

by ATOM / 19 January 2017 / No Comments

Aqua East started out as a small surf shop in 1973 and has grown to be one of Neptune Beach, Florida’s largest and most successful surf shops. They have 2 locations; Neptune Beach, and St. Augustine where they carry tons of boards from local shapers such as Miller, Erie, and some bigger names such as Rusty, Lost, and of course our Stewart boards.

Sandy Forsyth opened this shop and really helped grow the sport in Jacksonville at the time. “Forsyth named the shop Aqua East after he learned in Latin class that “aqua” meant water. And even though they only carried t-shirts and surfboards at first, Aqua East enlisted top local riders including Annette Stewart, Dave Huff, Ray Pimental, and Strumpf” (Surfline).

The shop has evolved into a 17,000 square foot shop just a few blocks from the original Atlantic Boulevard location in Jacksonville Beach.

Stop by and check out their stock of Stewart boards!
